Schedule:

  • Breakfast with the families;
  • 9:00 am11:00 am – a prayer in the parishes: Holy Mass, catechesis;
  • 11:00 am 11:30 am lunch in the parishes;
  • 11:30 am – 4:00 pm – sightseeing;

(The program for Wrocław) – spots planned for beginning the tour for the organised groups (reported earlier by the foreign groups coordinators to Diocesan Headquarters): Rynek, Ostrów Tumski, Hala Stulecia, Dworzec Główny PKP –  Main Railway Station, Prof. Tołpa’s Park ( Nowowiejska Street).

  • 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – a meal – served nearby the “MercyFest” places (planned spots: Plac Wolności, Dąbie („Teki”), Popowice – Rysia Street square (parish), Karłowice (parish), Park Południowy.
    In Oława, Trzebnica, Brzeg and Oleśnica – similar places.
  • 5:00 pm 9:00 pm – “MercyFest”;
  • Dinner with the families;
  • 00 pm– multimedia fountain show– for interested.

 

After a breakfast with the families, the youth will gather in the parish at 9:00 am for a prayer and catechesis.

About 11:30 am the group leaves for a the city tour, which may begin at one of the appointed spots (if only the foreign group reports its will to Diocesan Headquarters). The parish may propose the sightseeing according to its own program or let the pilgrims take their time for other plans realization.
The tour ends at “MercyFest” spots. Nearby, the groups receive a meal (serving time: 4.00 pm – 6.00 pm). At 5:00 pm  – 9:00 pm the “MercyFest” takes place.

 

MercyFest are 5 concerts in various parts of the city, connecting theWorld’s Youth Days with the European Capital of Culture. The events’ aim is integration and experiencing the unity of the young people all over the world and Wrocław citizens. The foundations of MercyFests are World’s Youth Days  values: unity, community and cooperation at artistic, cultural and religious levels. This is the reason of the main elements of the event:

– the integration – the participants will get to know each other and will take part in many dances and games,

– the cultural presentations, which will let the foreign guests present their talents,

– the artistic part –the foreign and local bands show,

– the prayer.

 

Later, the youth comes to the parishes or directly to their hosts. For the common events e.g. “MercyFest” all the  guests, youth and parish’s families are invited.

The pilgrims have a dinner with the hosting families..

For interested, there is a multimedia fountain show planned for 10.00 pm (from Thursday to Sunday).
