Prayer for the Youth

Saint Jadwiga, still young at heart! In your early years you set out on the difficult path of fulfilling the divine calling. Filled with the God’s Grace, you are still a good example and inspiration for young people to strive for a mature life and responsible love. You always understood young people, and they would often seek your advice and help. You connected generations, and built bridges between the separated. Saint Jadwiga, we entrust to you the whole young generation, so often lost in foreign countries and cultures. Prevent them from depravation and loss of precious spiritual and personal values. Don’t let them lose the idealism they naturally have. Entreat the Lord to give them bravery to follow Jesus, the only master of real love and valuable life. Prevent them from getting lost in the world of lies, insincerity, indecency and consumerism. Don’t let them lose Jesus as a friend, who is the most precious treasure for a young person....

TRZEBNICA – Mass with mission to Kraków

COLLECT Grant, we pray, almighty God, that the revered intercession of Saint Hedwig may bring us heavenly aid, just as her wonderful life is an example of humility for all. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. FIRST READING Proverbs 31, 10-13. 19-20. 30-31 a woman who fears Yahweh A reading from the Book of Proverbs Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands. She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates! The world of the Lord. RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 103: 1-4. 8. 13. 17-18 R: O bless the Lord, my soul! Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my...

V: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. R: Amen V: The Lord be with you. R: And also with you. V. In nomine Patris et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. R. Amen. V. Dominus vobiscum. R. Et cum spiritu tuo. THE READING The reading from the second Letter of Saint Paul to Corinthains. Brothers and sisters: we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us. We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. Since, then, we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke, we too believe and therefore speak, knowing that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and place us with you in his presence. Everything indeed is for you, so that the grace bestowed in...

The Commissioning of WYD Cracow 2016 Pilgrims The Feast of Saint Jacob the Apostle Patron of Day: St. Hedvig St. Hedwig of Silesia, The Princess Jadwiga of Andechs-Meran was born between 1174 and 1178 in Bavaria. She was relative of werewith the rulers of Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary and France (her sister Gertrude, wife of King Andrew II of Hungary, was the mother of St. Elizabeth of Hungary). Jadwiga received an excellent education in the monastery of the Benedictine Sisters in Kitzingen. When she was young she became the wife of Henry I (the Bearded the Silesian Piast family). Both led a pious life and cared for the development of the Church. Duchess Jadwiga was a founder of many churches and monasteries, including the Cistercian monastery in Trzebnica (which largely was built by prisoners). Jadwiga came to the conclusion that the construction work will be more useful than idle rot in the dungeon. Jadwiga was extremely committed for helping the sick and the poor inhabitants. She was more than just help in the hospitals and hospices, inter alia, a hospital for lepers women in Sroda or hospital of St. Spirit in Wroclaw. “The wandering hospital”was her idea too. It was based on the doctors who had been walking around and helping people who were lost in the forest village. She was talking care being really close to the...
